Build a corpus one month at a time. See what a recurring deposit turns into over 1–10 years.

What is RD?

A recurring deposit (RD) calculator shows the maturity value when you deposit a fixed amount every month, with interest compounded quarterly.

Formula Each month: Balance += Deposit, then Balance *= (1 + monthly rate)

Worked example

₹5,000/month for 5 years at 6.7% matures at ~₹3,56,000. You deposited ₹3,00,000, interest earned ~₹56,000.

Frequently asked questions

FD or RD, which gives more interest?

An FD of the same total deposit earns more, because the full amount earns interest from day one. RD is for when you don't have the lump sum.

Is RD interest taxable?

Yes, at your slab rate. No TDS on RD interest below ₹40,000/year (post 2019).

Can I skip a month's RD deposit?

Banks charge a small penalty (~₹1–5 per ₹100) and may close the account after 4–6 misses.
