How much cash do you need to take a trade? Margin required based on price, quantity, and leverage.

What is Margin?

A margin calculator shows the minimum margin a broker requires to let you take a position, given the stock price, quantity, and available leverage.

Formula Margin = (Price × Quantity) / Leverage

Worked example

100 shares at ₹2,500 with 5× leverage = ₹50,000 margin (trade value ₹2,50,000; broker funds the rest for intraday).
